Niche combat trick for white aggro and sacrifice strategies. That's Rough Buddy offers decent rate at instant speed—a +1/+1 counter and a card draw for two mana is reasonable—but the payoff requires setup (a creature leaving the battlefield) to reach its full potential. In Commander, it slots into Daghatar or Cathars' Crusade shells where sacrifice synergies already exist, but in constructed formats it competes with more efficient pump spells and card draw. Best as a role-player in dedicated sacrifice decks rather than a standalone inclusion.
