If a nontoken creature an opponent controls would die, exile that card with an ice counter on it instead. You may cast spells from among cards in exile your opponents own with ice counters on them, and you may spend mana from snow sources as though it were mana of any color to cast those spells.

Reliable graveyard denial and card advantage engine for snow-based control and midrange decks. Draugr Necromancer locks opponents out of their best threats while generating incremental value by casting exiled spells—a particularly strong effect in Commander where it compounds over multiple turns. The snow mana requirement is easily met in dedicated snow strategies, and the ability to spend snow mana flexibly makes it a genuine threat in Pioneer and Modern snow shells. Worth including in any deck built around snow synergies that can afford the four-mana investment.
