Reliable counterspell for blue control and tempo decks. Deny Entry trades the efficiency of pure counters for card selection—you're paying three mana to counter a creature and cycle through your deck, which smooths draws but costs tempo. Best in Commander and casual formats where the card advantage justifies the slower pace; in Legacy and Vintage, it's outclassed by Counterspell, Force of Will, and other free or cheaper interaction. Worth considering in slower control shells that value the draw effect, but not a staple.
